Living life on the edge
When we think of living life on the edge, we think of skydiving, mountain climbing, and generally taking chances with our lives.
But believe it or not, there’s many people that are living on the edge every day. They live from payday to payday, paying their bills., Buying their groceries, and other things they deem essential for life. Many have credit cards for every possible need. They have a credit card for gas, a credit card for clothing, credit cards for any building or hardware need and credit cards for any appliance they may need. And many if not all of these credit cards are maxed out. So payday for many people, is sort of a robbing Peter to pay Paul scenario. They live continually trying to catch up, while still using credit cards to supply their daily wants and needs. Most people, especially the young of this day and age, don’t understand what waiting for something is. They want what they want and they want it now.
They never think what if they lost their jobs, how would they live then? They never think, what if the main provider for the family got sick and could not work, or God forbid ,died. What then, would the family do?
Someone told me not long ago, their credit card bills totaled in the $30,000 range.
Yes people living on the edge of losing everything they have, just because they want so many things that they don’t need. They put things, and impressing other people, before anything else. They’ve got to keep up with the Joneses.
It’s a sad situation. And the only advice I can offer is from the word of God. And here it is.
Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: Matthew 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Until next time God bless and God save.
