Boastfulness

In 2ND Kings chapters nineteen and twenty, we read the story of Hezekiah. He was in a minority one one, Himself. While all the rest of the the kings of Judah before him permitted Idol worship to continue. When Hezekiah became king, he had all the high places torn down. He was bringing the Israelites back from serving other gods, to serving the One true God. After God Himself, had destroyed the king of Assyria's army. Causing the king of Assyria himself to flee. This was done in answer to Hezekiah's prayer. Once the treat from this king no longer existed, Hezekiah fell ill with some kind of sickness, and was told by Isaiah, the prophet of God that he would die. Hezekiah turned toward the wall of the temple and prayed, what must have been a bitter prayer as he begged God to spare his life. God answered Hezekiah's prayer by giving him fifteen more years to live. Rather than be humbled by this miracle, Hezekiah became proud, and enlarged himself, instead of giving God the praise He deserved.

Hezekiah showed the visiting king of Babylon, all the riches of the kingdom, sparing nothing. Hezekiah wanted the Babylonian king to know just how rich he was.

Once a righteous king, Hezekiah had fallen into sinfulness.

Hezekiah was too proud for his own good. He valued things much to highly. He should have boasted on how great God was.

Until next time God bless, and remember where all things come from.
John 1:3
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
