I sang in front of the Mayor

Yesterday, Willard and I went to the nursing home. Me to sing and Willard to give the Sunday school message. We had no idea that the Mayor would be there. To say I was nervous would not even be close. Willard did a fantastic job with the message. I was so very proud of him. He stood up in front of the people just as he always did. And gave a wonderful message.

We asked the residents to tell a little about their Mothers. That was wonderful seeing the smiles on their faces as they went back in time to recall their youth. The whole time there was so special. and wow, I sang in front of the Mayor. I still can't believe I had the nerve.

Until next time God bless, and remember you may be surprised at anytime, just know the Holy Spirit is there to help you through it all.

A Mother's love

A Mother's love is as, no other love on Earth.
No one could put a price on it, or tell just what it's worth.

A Mother's love endures, through all the years and trials.
No matter how long the road, no matter how many miles.

A Mother's can be as gentle as a breeze, that cools the summer night.
Or it can be a raging wind, when things aren't going right.

A Mother's love is hard as nail, when she needs to show correction.
Or it can be safe and warm, when she's showing her protection.

A Mother's love is simple, There's no fancy way to show it.
No big elegant displays, some how you just know it.

A Mother's love is there, to frighten the scary shadows away.
Or some how find that favorite toy, that magically went astray.

God, please bless all the Mother's, and help them do what's right.
And may He always keep their children, in His precious sight.

And God help Mother's lead their children, in His holy word.
So they may repeat the message, of what they once have heard.

May God bless all the Mother's, and be with them I pray
And let me wish each one of them, A HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

''We'' have the choice in what we watch.

Many years ago when I was working. I was waiting on a customer, and she asked me if I watched a certain show on TV the night before. I told her no, I did not. I said something to the effect that I didn't watch that show. She started telling how awful it was. Saying something about a man pulled off his pants and all the other things she saw. Since she continued in telling everyone in the business, how awful and vulgar the show was. I asked her this question, (did you continue to set and watch it)? Her face turned just a touch red as she had to admit, she did. Even though she thought the show not fit to be on TV, she still sat and watched. I would have taken her outrage to the show, more sincere, if she had said, she didn't watch it. But she watched. We can complain about the shows on our TV sets all we want to. But until we either turn the TV off or turn the channel when these vulgar shows come on, then we have nothing to say. My opinion is if enough people stop watching these shows and complain to the networks. The sponsor's will leave them high and dry. after all the sponsors are the ones who furnish the financing for the shows. So at the end of the day, it's your and my choice what comes on our TV's. Willard use to watch that show, two and a half men. I would always find something else to do while he watched. I though the show was vulgar, and I just didn't like it at all. But I really never said anything to Willard about it. One day Willard told me that the Lord had convicted him from watching it. He said the Lord showed him how vulgar the show was. Willard has never watched it again.
I'll tell you something, the devil will use anything he can to get to you or you family members. TV is just another way old satan can come into your house. And when you turn on that TV and watch trash, then you are, ''to my opinion'' inviting satan in.
Turn the thing off and spend some time with the family, is what I say.
Until next tine God bless, and think about it, you have the right to control who or what comes into your home.

Men weakened by lust.

You can look into today's world and see it all over. Men drawn away from happy marriages, for lust of some woman. Tiger Woods, John Edwards, Jesse James. These are just to name a few of the most popular ones in our headlines. Men lusting after women is not a modern day thing. In fact we find this kind of behavior all over the Old Testament of the Bible. To name a few were, Samson who lusted after a gentile woman, not just once but twice. His second wife, Delila, played him for a fool. Which ended with his capture by the Philistines and soon after, his death.

King David also was overtaken with lust as he watched Uriah's wife, Bath-Sheba as she bathed. As a result, He got Bath-Sheba pregnant. The end result was that he had Uriah murdered. So King David's lust also resulted in cold blooded murder.

And let's not forget David's son Solomon his lust for women was so overwhelming, that he ended up with seven hundred wives and three hundred mistresses.

Now mind you I really don't mean this as a joke. But I think if Solomon had been alive today, they could surely say he had a sex addiction.

So as you can see, this is not a new thing of today.

The professionals call it a sex addiction. I call it, lack of self control. I call it, temptations from the devil that are not fought hard enough against. And I call it sin. Not an illness, but just plain sin.

Until next time, God bless and remember the devil is at every turn. We must put on the whole armor of God to be able to stand against him.

Laugher, good medicine

Willard and I had a great time at Golden Years this morning. Everyone was so attentive and seemed to be really interested in the lesson that was being given by Willard and me. We were in first kings Chapters nine and ten. When the verse was read by Willard about Solomon having seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines. Mr Maynard said ( That was one gooooood man) We all cracked up and had a good laugh. Then Mr. Norris tuned in and said (He didn't think any man had that much testosterone. ) Even Miss Elizabeth, who usually sits quietly in her chair, starting laughing out loud.
Oh, I know that it was Bible study, and in some other surroundings, other that the nursing home, we may have been frowned on. But if each of you could have just seen all those lovely people, who normally have nothing to laugh about. All having a good laugh together. You would have said ' praise God. What a great time this was, it just made my day.

Untill next time God bless, and by all means , every once in a while, laugh!

The all America canal is, a Killer canal.

Over 550 Mexican people dead, due to a canal that is on the Mexican, California border, used to irrigate farm lands. I watched 60 minutes as they showed a large graveyard with headstones of unnamed people.
I watch as they questioned the main person responsible for the upkeep and safety of the canal. A stern faced woman, with little emotion, stated that these people were taking their own lives in their own hands when they tried to cross the canal. When reminded that not only men, but women and children also were losing their lives because of the lack of safety features in the canal. she just shrugged her shoulders as if saying, so what.
There was a man that at his own expense, put some rope with floatation devices across the canal. This being so people could grab on to something to keep from drowning. But the state of California, quickly took them out, At the states expense!!!!! Isn't it peculiar that they can spend the money taking something down, but tell John q public, they can't afford to put safety devices in.
I understand that it's against the law for these Mexican to enter the USA illegally. But I think their life is too steep a penalty to be payed. Come on America, find a heart!!!!
until next time,God bless and may God forgive us all.

My Gardenias

OK, soooo. You remember last September. I had rooted the Gardenias and planted them. They had just enough time before cold weather came, to establish a root system in the ground. If you'll remember, I told you I'd let you know how they did. Well we lost two, out of the nine we planted.

From rooted

To planted

To growing.
Within three years, this will be a full grown plant. And what I love about them is, they stay green all year round.
Until next time, God bless, and go out and get your hands dirty. plant something.
