Some surprises are good

Willard and I both have been having some unpleasant surprises lately. So the surprises from the nursing home and from Weldon and Kay , Willard's brother and his wife, And Joyce, Willard's sister and her husband JC were so surprising and so welcomed. The nursing home brought over a beautiful basket with a ham, and all the things that would make a wonderful meal. Weldon and Kay gave us a lovely Christmas tub with Steaks and baked potatoes, salad ingredients in it. Willard's sister Joyce and her husband JC took us out to eat breakfast at Cracker barrel. All these things were so welcomed and needed. With Willard being out of work, we have to watch every cent we spend, and there was no way that we could have afforded such things as we received. I just want to send a big thank you to all the people that have helped us over the Christmas holiday. May God truly bless you all. Until next time Happy new year everyone. and God bless.

2010, what will it bring.

I know that I never expected to see 2000, much less 2010. If you are a person that notices things, and if you are also a person that reads and believes in scripture. then you have noticed along with the rest of us Christians that the Bible is fulfilling Itself even as the clock strikes off the minutes until 2010. We have become a world of violence, It's popular to be brutal looking. wearing clothes that reflect brutality, with daggers, swords, and dark sayings on them.

A world of cutthroat businessmen, who take employees life savings from retirement funds and 401K funds, and thinks not even twice about it. We are a generation of people who's children not only speak back to them, but show so much dishonor. I saw a little girl, the other day at the grocery store, telling her mother to shut up. We are a generation of people that have let homosexual behavior become not only OK, but it's a popular thing to be. We are a generation of people that see our unmarried daughters and granddaughters, give birth to one or more babies. It is now excepted and not a head turns anymore. Young women are now trying to have babies at the ages as low as thirteen and fourteen years old. Children having children. We are a generation of parents letting their unmarried daughter's boyfriend live in their house, While the young couple live as married, but have no responsibility other than getting themselves out of bed in time to eat breakfast. We are a generation that lets laws be passed that kill babies, thousands every day. We are a generation of people of whom a fifth of the teenagers are taking drugs. Young men and women, destroying their lives with cocaine, Heroin or methamphetamines. Just to get a good feeling. We are a generation where young men are choking themselves to get a sexual high feeling. many of which, don't get the choke hold loosed and die, or suffer brain damage, for lack of oxygen. We are a generation where our young children, girls and boy alike are being kidnapped, sexually assaulted and murdered. We are a generation of people that kill for religious sake, for nationality sake, and sadly just for the fun of it. Yes we are a generation that our forefathers would be in shock to see what mankind has become.

And yet we still have hopes for 2010 to be a better year. We have hopes that something magically will happen to change the world, to make it a better place. Well let me tell each of you something. There is only one thing that could change things. That's the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When He comes to call His followers to meet Him in the air. Where He will take those who are His away from this evil place. My friend, The unredeemed have not even come close to the evil that will come into the world after that.

Are you one of the Lords, or will you be left behind. Make sure within yourself today. Before it's too late. There will be no second chances, friend. There will be no second chances.

Until next time God Bless

Merry Christmas

Well it's here, Merry Christmas to everyone. I know there are people out there that know why Christmas is celebrated, and some just want the presents. Jesus Christ is the reason for the season. Think about Jesus in paradise sitting beside the Father. And from the beginning of creation, Jesus knew that He would have to leave Heaven and be born as a man on the earth. You see only a man could sacrifice His life for mankind, and only God can redeem mankind from the sins that started with Adam and Eve. Jesus Christ, both man and God is the only one that could and do both. We have to remember that while we celebrate Christmas as Jesus' birthday, the reason He came was to save mankind from their sins. The greatest birthday present you could give Him is to except Him as your Lord and Savior. So as you open your presents, whether it be tonight or on Christmas morning, Remember your greatest gift, Jesus Christ.

Have a very merry Christmas.

until next time God Bless.

Nursing Home staff

Here's just a few of the staff at Golden Years Nursing Home.Willard and I have learned through our ministry at the nursing home just what a wonderful job these people are doing. These people have such an enormous responsibility from the legal responsibility of each patient to Medical care, dietary, many who have special needs and so much more. If you would consider just what the care for one person would consist of, and add that almost a hundred times then you might understand just how important their jobs are.

These people do their jobs with smiles on their faces and always kind words to patients and visitors alike. Everyone from the supervisor to the cooks in the kitchen have the patients best interest in mind. They go out of their way to make sure the patients are first cared medically, and try hard to also keep the patients happy. Knowing what patient likes ice with their beverage and knowing who doesn't. The small things that matter to the patients, but an outsider doesn't even think about. These are the people that look after our loved ones, when we can't. Each any every one of them deserve our gratitude and a large pat on the back for a job well done.

I want to say thank you and Merry CHRISTmas to all the staff. And may you all have a bright and happy new year.

Until next time God bless

Blessed

Whens the last time you stopped everything you're doing and gave thought to just how blessed you really are. I'm not talking about you home, your money, or even the clothes on your back. I'm not talking even about your family and loved ones. I'm not speaking about any blessings that has anything to do with this earthy realm. I want to speak about God's blessing to us through His Son Jesus Christ. Starting in Genesis and ending in Revelations, God's manuscript, The Holy Bible is all about Jesus Christ. When God called on Abraham, God chose the man that a nation of people would come from, a special people that would someday see the promised Messiah come into it's fold. Everything has always been about Jesus Christ. Christ came into this world for all peoples. I can't imagine why God would even bother with sinful mankind, much less send His precious Son to redeem us. I want you to realize just how blessed you are that you were called by Christ to be one of His. To be grafted into the family of God Himself, through Jesus Christ. Think about it, the God of creation, that created everything. Think about all that God has created that we know about, and think of all that He created that we can't know. All the many heavenly bodies that are so far away and vast. And then think that same God loves me. Loved me enough to give His only begotten Son. His son who suffered and died for you and me. Christ died, He died for you and me, for all people. I can't get over that part of it. Jesus Christ, died for me. And if we should never receive another blessing in our lifetime, That should be blessing enough, But the thing about it is, God continues to bless us daily with His love, His comfort and companionship. And more than that, He constantly forgives us when we humble ourselves and ask forgiveness. We don't deserve any of God's wonderful blessings. So are you blessed? I'd say so, Yes indeed we all are so blessed.

Until next time God bless, and if I don't write anything else before Christmas. I wish each and everyone of you a Blessed Christmas and another year full of blessings.

Backward and gonna stay that way.

OK, so I made someone mad. Not surprising to some people. I don't know but, when someone says to me that the Bible is outdated, and we live in the 21st century, well that just gets to the very dept of my soul. And all I said was"" That book'' I was pointing toward my Bible that was lying on a chair"" says that it is an abomination. Well I guess that you all know now ''That is if you read the Bible'' what I'm talking about. Yep homosexuals. We were talking about what TV shows we watched etc. She named off the ones she liked watching and when I said ( no I don't watch those) the question was asked, why? Well the answer I gave was the instigator of the comment. One show I didn't watch because this star of the show said on air that Jesus was not the only way to get to Heaven, another one show the star woman was gay, and I was not going to promote her by watching her. You see to me watching something like that on TV, is to me like accepting it as OK. and to me it's not. Watching movies or TV shows that are in odds with the Bible. That turn to the dark side of things will not be watched by me.

Now mind you this does not mean I hate the person, it means I hate what the person stands for. The young people of this nation, and some other nations are excepting homosexuals as the popular thing to be, not only is it excepted, it is a great way to be. Hogwash, hogwash, It was a sin when God said it........

Lev. 18:22Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Lev.20:13If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Some of the newest versions of the Bible have changed the wording to say detestable. taking away from the evilness if the sin. There are few things that are in the Bible as an abomination, most time the Bible just calls sin, sin. So when the Bible has the word ''abomination'' I would think that it being an offence to the very creation of God.

So get mad if you must, but read and study the word of God. It's not out of date, It the true word of God, bringing us God's law, and God's love. And it's just as true today as it was then.

Until next time, God bless

From Judy

From Judy, I really appreciate it when people help me out with my blog. Thanks Judy

Subject: 2 Chronicles 7:14; We are speeding towards one world government and the second coming is at a rapid pace. I remember reading about the children of Israel who turned from God time and time again, only to realize their mistake and pray for forgiveness. Each time, God would forgive them and they would walk with him for a time. So, I am going to ask you to join me in praying for our nation every day. God is in control!!! Our president did not encourage participation in the National Day of Prayer. He called it an event. He think sit should be private prayer instead of Public prayer. May God Have Mercy On America & Protect Our Troops. In Texan last week, there were signs in people's yards that said, "America , prayer our only hope" with 2 Chron.7:14 underneath. We certainly need God's help! I have no idea who started this, but I certainly agree with this e-mail. I have decided to reach out to my friends and relatives and ask you to do something that has been troubling me for a long time. Our nation is/has been on the slippery slope for a longtime. If you look around you will find corruption, greed, moral decay, and a steady move away from the things that made us great. The principles upon which this nation was founded are no longer our backbone. However, we can reverse this trend. 2 Chron. 7:14 in God's word he states, "If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." I am convinced that we must pray for our nation and its leaders and ask for forgiveness. So I ask you to join me in this plea to our Lord. Would you please send this to people in your address book(send it to all of them); ask them to pray EVERYDAY... (25to only the 5th power is 9,765,625 people.) IMAGINE if each person reaches TEN others...or all TWENTY-FIVE! If you do and they comply, we will lift up millions and millions of prayers a day to our Creator. He will hear us and in faith will answer. Let me just add a quote from Ronald Reagan. "If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under." I truly believe this is why the United States of America is in the shape we are in today. Most people have forgotten that we are one nation under God! Let us as Christians stand up and remind people of this!!
god bless

Jesus is watching you

This is from frances, It is sooooooooooo funny
A burglar broke into a house one night. He shined his flashlight around, looking for valuables when a voice in the dark said,'Jesus knows you're here.'He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked his flashlight off, and froze. When he heard nothing more , after a bit, he shook his head and continued.Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard'Jesus is watching you.'Freaked out, he shined his light around frantically, looking for the source of the voice. Finally, in the corner of the room, his flashlight beam came to rest on a parrot.

'Did you say that?' he hissed at the parrot.'Yep', the parrot confessed, then squawked, 'I'm just trying to warn you that he is watching you.'The burglar relaxed. 'Warn me, huh? Who in the world are you?''Moses,' replied the bird.'Moses?' the burglar laughed. 'What kind of people would name a bird Moses?''The kind of people that would name a Rottweiler Jesus.'

Oh, Praise God I'm redeemed

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Well, Willard being on layoff is my excuse for not putting anything on my blog. I don't know I just enjoy spending time with him. David is off somewhere with his girlfriend, Amy. and right now Willard is off to Weldon's house to hunt some. Soooooo, I am once again alone with my crazy self. I read over my Sunday school lesson, and was not moved by anything but the title. ""What does Jesus' call mean for me?"" The writer was good in explaining how we should live our every day life's , and the expectations that God has in us. But I don't know, it just seems to me that the fellowship I have with the Lord means more to me. I don't think that the Lord expects the same thing out of all of us. After all He gave us such a diversity of talents, also different gifts. Where He may want one to go preach, He may want another to stay home and be a good parent, a good wife or husband. I don't think how or what we do has anything to do with serving God anyways. I think that we serve God in our prayer life, and in love and faith and obedience. So what does Jesus' call mean to me? It means I'm one of His, The very second that I answered that call and repented of my sins, I became one of His. That's so great in itself. That my name is written in the book of life. Oh, Praise God, hallelujah, I'm redeemed. There is such joy in serving the Lord. But alone with the joy comes sorrow too. We Christians are not immune to tragedies. We have hurts, we have heartbreaks. The difference is, we have Jesus Christ to lean on, to help us through the troubles of our lives. And though we may not get our prayers answered with a yes every time. We have the Lord to comfort us in our low times. One thing I can say for sure, Jesus' call to me was the most beautiful thing that has ever happened to me.

So until next time, Remember God loves you. After all He sent His Son into this evil world, To be born as a man, and die, our sacrifice. A perpetual , one time for all time, redeeming sacrifice for us all. If you've not answered the call from Jesus, won't you do it now? There is only one way to have eternal life, and that's Jesus. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

God bless

Workers protest

This was in the newspaper all about Pals, where David worked and was also unpaid approx $900.00 before taxes. There were many more in the same boat as David. Please take time to read this.

I myself had a conversation with her about the money she own David. She cursed me out and hung up. If you want my opinion she should be in jail.

Unpaid Workers Protest
By BRIAN HANEY Of The Record Staff Passers by on 13th Street in Erwin couldn’t help but notice a group of people gathered at the entrance of the Erwin Business Complex holding signs and chanting yesterday. The people were former employees of PALS group homes in Dunn and Erwin. They came out to protest their former employer, who they say has not paid them, some in over half a year. The protesters staged their demonstration outside the PALS’ main office at 200 N. 13th St. in Erwin on the day when accreditors were scheduled to come review the business. The employees marched with signs they’d made with statements like “All Work No Pay” or “BAD Policy + BAD Practice = BAD Paycheck.”Some also wore T-shirts with similar statements ironed on the front. The idea behind the protest was to make their voices heard. The participants got the attention of not only drivers along 13th Street, but also of PALS CEO Pamela Terry who came out, video camera in hand, to document the protest.“I’m surprised at you,” she said to one former employee. She said she has paid wage and hour and that she doesn’t know what her past employees are doing picketing her office.“They’re just being silly,” she said.“We have not been paid a dime,” one former employee See Protest, Page

Protest Continued From Page One shouted back. The N.C. Department of Labor has substantiated 17 separate wage payment complaints from PALS employees beginning in December 2008. The department advised unpaid employees to take their claims to court. "If she would just pay me my money," Monica Davis said. "I don't want to cause her any problems, I just want my money." Ms. Davis was a facility manager at the 505 S. Magnolia Ave. group home in Dunn from January to August of this year. She said Mrs. Terry owes her $2,000 for time she worked without receiving payment. She said Mrs. Terry frequently promises her and other employees she's mailing their money, but it never comes. "It would be better to say she's not going to pay (us)," she said, "then we could take action from there." "My mailman is tired of me," Ms. Davis said. "My post office is at me too," Debra Stewart, who was next to her, said. She also worked at the Magnolia Avenue group home. Mrs. Stewart said she quit her job at PALS on Sept. 14 after just over a year of employment after one of her clients ran away. She said she was the only staff member at a group home with four male clients when one of the clients left the facility. She said she called the main office in Erwin for help three times, but nobody came so she had to decide whether to go after the escaped client or stay and look after the other three. She went after the escapee and that same day, tendered her resignation. Mrs. Stewart said she is owed about $1,200. Right now there is a silver alert out for a PALS client who has been missing from an Erwin home for more than a week. Fighting For Unemployment Ms. Davis said she was let go after she was forced to perform an involuntary commitment on a client without prior training. Once she was terminated, she said Mrs. Terry tried to fight her unemployment by "telling lies," something she said has also happened with other employees. "I'm still fighting her," Ms. Davis said. Mrs. Stewart's husband, James, came out yesterday in support of his wife and her co-workers. He said his wife's not getting paid has certainly hurt their family. "I hear everything that's going on and it frustrates me," he said. "She's owed $1,200 and that's money we need desperately." Ultimately, Mr. Stewart doesn't think his wife will get what she's owed, but he's still in her corner. "I really don't see anybody getting paid," he said. "I think it's a lost cause, I hope not. "I just don't understand why nobody with any power can make her (Mrs. Terry) pay her employees," he said. Leslie Hobbs, a nurse who continues to work with PALS, said it appeared the employees who were protesting were angry. "The situation is truly not good for the consumers and people who work for the clients," she said. Mrs. Terry, she said, "is doing her best to care for these clients, educate her staff and give to the community and these clients what she thought was needed." "They think it's us that's wrong because we want our money that we worked for," said Tiffany Graham, the first former employee who reported PALS to The Daily Record. At one point during the protest, a woman identified as Mrs. Terry's mother shouted to one of the former employees, "I'll be at your house this afternoon." The employee called the police, believing the statement was a threat and Officer Albert Webb was called to the scene. He said the statement did not constitute a threat because no violence was actually threatened. Officer Webb said he didn't know what would come from the protest. "I know this place has been in trouble for a while now," he said. "It's been coming to a head. "All we can do," he said, "is just stand by and watch and keep the peace." PALS CEO Pamela Terry made an appearance at yesterday's protest, videotaping her former employees as they chanted 'All Work, No Pay.' She said they were being 'silly.' Daily Record Photo/Brian Haney

WHY DO YOU SERVE GOD?

Willard and I have been reading in Numbers, about Balaam and his role as a believer of God. Balaam was not an Israelite, but was a gentile. He however believed in God. And God spoke to Balaam concerning the Israelites. You see Balaam was a seer, he could put curses on people. Now Balak the son of Zippor, king of the Moabites, wanted Balaam to put a curse on the people and armies of Israel. God spoke to Balaam about this in a vision. It was not a dream, because the word of God repeats over and over again that Balaam's eyes were open. So we know it was a vision.
Balaam had a few things wrong with him, one of which was, although he believed in God, he also worshipped other gods. and two, he did things in a way that profited himself. You see, he went along with Balak, as much as he could, because it profited him. He walked a thin line between doing what God told him, and at the same time trying to please Balak.

As I was reading this I thought of how we as Christians in the USA do things that please God, and now we reap rewards. But let me ask you this question. If the rewards would stop, and instead would be hardships for serving the Lord. What would we do? Would we serve the Lord as long as it profits us, and turn away when we are no longer blessed. What is your faith based on? Is it what God can do for you, or is it based on what God has already done. Why do you serve God, ask yourself that question.

And remember sometimes there are angels perventing us from doing certain things, as was with Balaam. That's why we need to go in prayer in all the things of our life's

Until next time God bless

A letter to the pass

Hello former boss man. I got to thinking about you today. remembering things that happened the seven years that I worked for you. I remembered old Mr. Harry that use to come in to get his merchandise. You charged him so much, knowing that he was not financially able to pay. You charged him much more that you did the lawyer or the doctor that came in, Why you even gave them discounts, where they hardly payed anything for theirs. I guess that's why you charged poor Mr. harry so much , to make up for the money you lost on the affluent customers that came in to your business. I remember the two sisters that caught you at your little game of charging different customers, different prices, for the very exact same item.

I even remember how you made me work every Saturday, while letting miss adored you, off. she was drawing a check from you while also drawing a SS check from her deceased husband. While I had three children at home, one of which I had to pay another sitter for Saturdays, after paying a sitter a full week for looking after the child during the week. You also gave Miss adored you a raise every time she asked for one, while you kept me a few cents above minimum wage. You knew my situation, but you were an uncaring boss man,

I remember when you got that big contract, The contract of all your dreams. The contract that would make you rich. I remember how your walk in customers meant nothing to you then. You treated then like nothing, huh, kinda like you treated me. And you lost most of your walk ins to another business. Then after the first 'two year contract' had ended. When it was time to renew the contract, you found out that you would not be the business that got the contract. another company had made a lower bid, and had taken it from you. That's when you had to sell out to another business, and had to go to work for them. And I guess most people in my position would be so happy that it happened to you, saying things like you deserved what you got, and all. But you know I felt kinda sorry for you. It took me no time at all to find another job. I was a good, honest worker, and they saw that. I made twice the money from them than I did with you. My life started to take a turn for the better once I left your employment. Now ain't that something. I hear that you still put on airs as to say you are better than the majority. You know I still feel sorry for you. Because I've got something that you may never have. But I hope you do. You see I have a friend that will never leave me, nor forsake me in any way. I have Jesus Christ as a Savior, He's with me all the time. I just wish that you knew him too. You can you know, He's just a pray away. Well goodbye I wish you well. Sincerely I do.

Until next time God bless.

Nice to know you're missed

When you leave a place, whether it be home, work, friends, where ever. Have you ever wondered ""Was I missed"". It is so fulfilling when you find out, yes you were. Early last week three things happened, first there was flu in the nursing and they asked all volunteers to stay away so not to spread it. And two, my blood pressure was really high and I went to the Doctors. He gave me medications, but for a few days as expected, I was woozy in the head, until I got use to the medication. Then # three I must have caught an intestinal virus at the doctor's office and became sick with it. Now all is well except for lingering pains in my belly, sorta like someone punched me a couple of times, if you know what I mean?

Anyways When I called the nursing home to tell them that I would be there this morning. I really got a wonderful welcome back talk. I was told how much I had been missed. I was also told of how much the residents had missed me and Willard, and the time we all spent in Bible study. It made me feel so good. I guess, it made me feel that what I was doing was important. It's nice to know that you are doing something worthwhile in life. But let me say this, we were reading about Moses taking credit for the water that would come out of the rock, And it's a good example of what I am about to say. I give God the credit for all that Willard and I both are doing. God has put it in our hearts to do this, and God has given us the strength, understanding, and ability to do all that we do. I am just so thankful that God has chosen Willard and me for this, His purpose.

Untill next time God bless

staying young

Here's a little something Frances sent me, and since I'm sick and don't really feel like typing a whole lot, it's came in real timely, thanks Frances. Until next time God Bless

HOW TO STAY YOUNG1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay them.2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's. 4. Enjoy the simple things. 5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive. 7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge. 8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help. 9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. Worry about nothing, pray about everything!!!

Thanksgiving wishes

Before I say anything else, I would like to say to each and everyone, I wish you all a very happy thanksgiving. That done, I would like to also say that each and everyone of us has so much to be thankful for. We the people of the USA, are far more richer than anyone else in the world. Our poorest person is richer than 90% of the rest of the world. We are so use to having what we want that we pay no attention to what we really have. Most every American has buildings that are the overflow of our homes. In other words as I have stated before, our cups overfloweth. If any of you are having a family to spend this day with, then you are abundantly blessed. I have learned just how blessed I am to have Willard to spend this day with. I see the people in the nursing homes. They have visitors come and spend some time with them, but after the visit is over, there they sit again in their loneliness. They hardly ever complain, as they spend their days in their wheelchairs. There are one or two that have no family at all, So they will once again sit in the hallways and watch as other residents have family members come and go, knowing there will be no one to come see them. There are many that can't eat regular food, there food has to be paraded. Some even worse with g-tubes.
And remember too all the people such as Janice. People that are fighting cancer and other diseases. So as you sit at your table tomorrow, and see your family members all sitting there. Please lift you voices in prayer to God and thank Him for all the blessings that He has blessed you with. And lift up a prayer for these people mentioned here too.
And as you sit there, cherish the moment. How blessed, how very blessed we are.
I'd like to thank most of all our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If not for Him, I'd have nothing to be thankful for.
Until next time God bless and Happy Thanksgiving.

Joan's poem, is it you

Just thought I'd put one of my poems on today. I'm feeling somewhat lazy and in the dumps today. Here it is, hope you enjoy. God bless
Is it you
A stranger saw you today, Asked me why you were so uptight.
I didn’t know just what to say, Because I knew that they were right.
You think because you’re a Christian, You can act and do and say.
Any old thing that you want to, But my friend you’re lost your way.
You in your fancy clothes with your heart that has turned stone cold.
When it comes to unkindness, my friend you broke the mold.
You’re so dignified, with everything so proper and posed.
To how many good people have you turned up your nose.
One can tell you’re a snob of a person, with one quick glance.
It’s just a shame you won’t give different classes of people a chance.
I caution you this, If Jesus came to Church and sit right down.
And if you didn’t know Him, Would He see your usual frown.
When you saw His sandals tied on His feet with the lace.
When you saw His long hair and the beard on His face.
His clothes soiled with some kind of smudged dark stain.
Would you look at Him and cringe, caring not for His pain.
He’s not dressed as tidy, as well groomed as you deem He should.
But don’t worry He won’t come back because He understood.
You care more of appearances and your social billing.
Than you do about people and their hurt feeling.
Nobody sees Jesus in you and it’s really a shame.
But my friend you only have yourself alone to blame.
Think about it, could this be you I’m writing about.
Think very earnestly so there will be not a doubt .
If you see yourself, you’ll know what to do.
And don’t worry I’ve already been praying for you.

Love hate relationships

You can look in most any family and find them, Love, hate relationships. Sisters, brothers, mothers fathers. Most of the time there’s more love than hate. Many times it’s from something that happened many years before. Things that hurt so bad that one can’t forget. And I’m not here to try to tell anyone what to do about them, because God knows that I also have the same kind of relationships. It’s that lie that was told on you, It’s that remark that embarrassed you in front so many people, it’s the Constant bragging. It’s the roundabout put downs. It’s the bossiness from a co-worker, or their back stabbing ways. It’s the person that always want to prove they’re smarter than you.
It’s being invited to Christmas dinner, and finding when you arrived that everyone else had already eaten, when you were there thirty minutes early. (yes that happened to me one time). Willard and I stayed a few minutes but didn’t eat, saying we had eaten already. I had not cooked anything for Christmas dinner because I had gotten the invitation, so Willard and I went to a restaurant to eat. Saying I was humiliated would not be even close to how I felt. That was the last time that I excepted any invitation with that person to eat at their home. Yes I still think about that every Christmas, and yes it still hurts, because the one that did it wanted to hurt me. Why? Because they wanted to show me that, in their eyes I was second best.
I know that most likely each and every one of you have gone through things such as this, one time or another. It is beyond me to give any advice on this subject. I have been fighting with this for years. How do we just move on as we should? I know the first step would be to confront the person, and get it straighten out. But with this person it would only result in more hard feelings, I really have tried with all my being to forgive and forget this. And most of the time I do. But when Christmas starts rolling around again, the memory emerges again. and every day for about a month, I reach down into my heart and say, I forgive. every time that hurts rises up I repeat , I forgive. And I will keep on saying it until I really do, forgive that is.
Yes, I’m saying it again today, I forgive you!
Until next time , God bless

Wisdom from the years.

Any of the people as old, or older than I am will completely understand what I'm talking about as I write about the wisdom we have gained over the years. The most of what we see are all the chances that we missed along the way. Chances such as furthering our educations where we could get better jobs, etc. But I was too set in my ways to listen to the older people that were trying to give me good advice. I don't know how many of you that know this, but I have only an eight grade education. I am proud of where that eight grade education has taken me, but yet I wish sometimes that I would have gone on to finish school and all. I think of myself as pretty knowledgeable, considering things, but I often think "if I am this knowledgeable with an eight grade education, how much more I would have been with more education.

I surmise that there are lots of people in the same state as I am. the shoulda, coulda, woulda's making us all feel a little guilty.

I want to empress upon the youth of today how important it is to learn everything you can while you are young, in school, in higher learning schools, whether it be a technical school or college. Introduce yourself to the arts, literature, science. Be as well rounded as you can be.
Come back tomorrow as I talk about love, hate relationships.
Until then, God Bless.

Russel finds the third immunity

Last night on the the survivor show, Russel and his Conrade's win the opportunity to fly off the Island where the survivor show was being filmed, to another island , where they would have a picnic lunch and a day of of fun. meanwhile on the survivor Island the others had ample time to look for the hidden Immunity idol, but instead of looking they all laid around planing their next move as far as voting. When Russel's group returned to the Island, the first thing that Russel did was start to look for the idol. The others started following him, it was so funny as Russel ran and eluded them. One of the other men was right at the idol as Russel began to run, instead of looking he chased Russel and lost the opportunity to find it himself.

Russel returned to the spot and found the idol in the first placed he looked.

Willard and I both broke out in laughter as he hid it in his pants pockets. But as far as I am concerned Russel is a person that walks on others to get what he wants. You see Russel is, from what I hear a self made millionaire. He seems, by what reports I hear of him to be a very controlling person, with little feelings for others. Watch on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfIQpF3jD9o
But the sad part of it all, there are so many people, that are just like that all over. Out only for themselves, and what they can get in life.

But you know I think I'll keep looking for those spiritual things, those things that will not melt away in the fire. They can all have their carnal stuff, I'll take Jesus over all that , any day, any time, God bless

Still using my buckets

Ok, so here's another thing that I use my buckets for, Frozen waffles. David just ate the last waffle that I had froze before, so I made a new batch. If you have one of these round waffle irons then, the waffles come out perfect for the buckets. Just put a piece of wax paper between each waffle. They are great for those mornings that you get up and just don't feel like cooking, or even for supper sometimes. Just pop them in the toaster oven and they're ready. They are also great just using 1/4 of one, toast it as usual then on with a scoop of ice cream, yummy. And the savings when you consider the price of frozen waffles in the grocery.
This bucket's ready for the top to be put on and in the freezer it goes.
Until next time God bless

Facing fears

Ok, so any one that has been watching dancing with the stars , may have been just as surprised as I, when they called Kelly Osbourn’s name out to be in the final three. It wasn’t because of her but, instead of the one they “John Q public” decided to send home. Model Joanna Krupa has been dancing most every dance she danced with such skill and such elegance , that most of us viewers just took for granted that she along with Singer, Dmitry Chaplin, who was also up there with high scores, would certainly be in the final three. And as I thought and I suppose many others thought, that Donnie Osmond and Kelly Osbourne would be the two left standing to see which one would take the third spot.
As I sat there watching the show and Donnie Osmond and Dmitry Chaplin’s name were called as safe. Then I just knew that Kelly was the one being sent home. As the show took it’s time in calling the name of the person to be in the final three, I watched Kelly’s face as she believed , as did I, that she would be leaving the show. It was a kind of sadness to me, because when Kelly entered the show, she was , to my opinion, just a teen rebel, with the funky hair and all that went with it. But as the show progressed we all started to see a lovely young lady, with such a beautiful smile emerge. Kelly showed herself to be a very sensitive, caring person. When she realized that it was her that would be moving on to the final three, she was very emotional. Kelly who had many doubts about herself, faced her fears and came out victoriously.
I guess that goes to show us that even when we think there is no chance, if we don't give in to our fears, there’s always hope that just this one time we may be surprised. So whatever you’re trying to do friends. Have hope, and put all your fears in God's hand. You might just be surprised. Miracles do happen.
Until next time, God bless.

What Christmas trees stand for.

Lady's and gentlemen,

this is a Christmas tree.

Frances sent me a great poem, but before you read it, I wanted to Make a challenge to each one of you. When you go shopping for you Christmas tree this year. Ask first, where the Christmas trees are, if they say we have family trees, or holiday trees, or any other trees other than Christmas trees, I challenge you to say to the management, No thanks, I'll go somewhere else, Tell them you want a Christmas tree. If enough people would do that, and the stores lose enough money because of lost sales. Then just maybe they will change their attitude.

Twas the month before Christmas* *When all through our land,* *Not a Christian was praying* *Nor taking a stand.* *See the PC Police had taken away,* *The reason for Christmas - no one could say.* *The children were told by their schools not to sing,* *About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.* *It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say* * December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.* *Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit* *Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!* *CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod* *Something was changing, something quite odd! * *Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa* *In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.* *As Targets were hanging their trees upside down* * At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.* *At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears* *You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.* *Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty* *Are words that were used to intimidate me.* *Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen* *On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !* *At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter* *To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.* *And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith* * Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace* *The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded* *The reason for the season, stopped before it started.* *So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'* *Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.* *Choose your words carefully, choose what you say* *Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS , not Happy Holiday !* Please, all Christians join together and wish everyone you meet during the holidays a MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Christ is The Reason for the Christ-mas Season!

Thanks Frances

Until next time God bless each one of you.

Evil in this world

There's a great evil in this world.
How could any human being hurt a little angel such as pictured here.

Fayetteville Police spokeswoman Theresa Chance told The Associated Press on Monday that searchers found the body of Shaniya Davis off a road southeast of Sanford in the central part of the state.

Her own mother supposingly sold her to be a sex slave. Her own mother!

No one can see the news without seeing this heart breaking report. Now's the time that many are asking, How can God allow this kind of thing to happen. I don't have a good answer for you. But I do know that God has He reasons, and they will be made clear to us one of these days.

But while your mind is on this, I would like to make the statement that this kind of thing goes on every day. It's happening to thousands of children right here in the USA. It may even be one of your neighbors.

Most people that think a child is being abused, turn their heads and tell themselves, it's none of their business. Well I'm asking you to start making it your business. Even if you report someone and there is found that no abuse is going on. That's better than risking another child being hurt or even killed. Open your eyes people, There may be a child in need, closer than you think.

Until next time, May God give us understanding, and may God bless each of you.

Miracles

What is a miracle? Someone once said, “Coincidence is when God wants to remain anonymous.” Well, miracles are when God reveals Himself.

Sometimes a miracle is so subtle that we hardly notice it. A touch on a man's shoulder, just at the moment he thinks no one cares.

It's when a doctor has given up on an old man, and for some reason, he gets well anyway.

It's when the money you forgot you loaned someone, is returned just when you were wondering how you were going to pay that bill.

It's when you have prayed that impossible prayer, Ands it gets answered.

Miracles are when God gets our attention.

A miracle is reading this blog, yes, you are a miracle. Given by God and placed in this world to assist God with other miracles.

Be a miracle today to someone that needs one. How you say? Just do the work that God put you on this earth to do. God will supply all the tools, when you work for Him.

Until next time God bless.

Routing for the underdog

I have noticed that I tend to stand for the underdogs in life and on a reality show too. There's a guy on survivor" ''Russell""that I have been wanting to be voted off since the first show. He came on too strong, calling the women on his tribe stupid, and such. But last night he found the immunity idol, without any hints. He knew that, for the one that hid it, to be able give a hint about it, that it had to be somewhere, where there was some kind of land mark. He looked and sure enough it was under a small bridge. The two tribes had merged week before last, and the larger of the two tribes planned to rid themselves of the people on the smaller tribe this week, after voting one of their own off last week. They all decided that Russell was to be the first to go. And sure enough they all voted for Russell to be the one to leave the show, not knowing that he had already found his "second" immunity idol, with no hints.
One by one they all went up and wrote Russell's name down. As they did Russell just sit with a grin on his face, knowing that they were all voting for him. The the spokesman of the show said( if anyone has an immunity Idol and wishes to use it, now is the time. Jaws dropped as Russell stood up and handed the idol to the spokesperson. All votes for Russell were then null and void. Greatly numbered against the once larger tribe members. Russell's side had just three to vote for a person on the other side. All votes being cast for one of the ladies ""Kelly""on the other side.

Now I don't know what changed me to want Russell to survive, Only that at that moment he was the underdog. It's just so sad to see one person that everyone else is trying to hurt. I guess it's because sometimes I feel like that. That everyone is against me, I really believe that one time in our lives we all feel that way. Like we are all alone and everyone else is against us. But there is one that is always there, isn't there. Jesus is always there for each of us.

until next time God Bless.

Cold wet days

On the cold wet, rainy days like today, when folks can't get outdoors. Some people find themselves with not much to do. Some spend their time cleaning their homes. Cleaning out closets, cabinets and those sort of places that they don't get to on any other day. Sorry not me, I spent today being completely lazy. I did three loads of wash this morning. After that I've just spent some time with Willard. We have talked about things in the past, dreams of the future and about different family members. We've even talked about pets we use to have. We watch some court shows on TV and had a few laughs. I've got some baked chicken in the oven "almost ready" and I will warm up some collards that I cooked yesterday. I've been burning candles trying to get rid of the smell that the collards made in the house. How can something taste so good, and smell so bad. It's been a good day.
We have stopped a few times and prayed for some people. A little girl a our church has had surgery to take her thyroid out she had cancer, they think they got it all, now she has to have the treatments and all, Janice my sister "Danny's wife" has had a report that her breast cancer is back, along with legions also showing up in her liver and public bone. And I kind of feel guilty having such a good day with these and so many other people in such mental and physical pain. And I wish with all my heart that these will soon be having their good day too.
Until next time God Bless.

The grass is always greener

Have you ever noticed that no matter how much a person has, they always want more. This does not apply only to humans, but is noticed in the animal kingdom too. Have you ever seen horses, cows, or even goats that have acres of grazing land stand at fences stretching the necks as far as they possibly can to get the grass from the other side of the fence. Willard brought this to our attention at the nursing home today as we were giving the lesson. And it was the funniest thing that on the way home that we just happened to see a horse with it's neck stuck between the bob wired fence grazing on the grass on the other side. We humans are much worse than animals. At lease animals do it for survivals sake. We human do it out of greed. We always want something someone else has. No, change that, we always want more than the other person has. Willard has made the statement that if all the wealth in the world was combined and use wisely that there would not be a person at all going hungry, or one that was homeless . every one would be safe and warm. But because of the greed of just about every person on this planet, There are people that do go hungry, and are cold, with no where to stay. It's a sad situation, I have no answers for. I do have hope though.

Until next time God bless

Where did the years go.

It seems like just a few years ago that I was bringing home my firstborn little boy Kenneth, then two years later came Donald and then just a year apart came Robert "Bobby", and Michael, Nineteen years later came David. Five handsome sons, all now grown. And it seems like it was yesterday. Let me see now, Kenneth is now 43, Donald 41, Bobby 40, Michael 39 and David 24. I have seven grandchildren, six of which were boys'' Wouldn't you know, lol'' and 1 very precious granddaughter. During my time of raising them all, I have had lots of joyous times, and lots of not so good ones too. But all in all, I have had a good life with plenty of love and I wouldn't trade it for anything, Change some thing yes, I would want to have a relationship with Christ the Lord much sooner than I did. I am not proud of everything that I did in my life, but life is life and we all end up the same way in the end, dead. It's not when we die that counts it whether or not we know the Lord Jesus. And unlike Oprah on TV who said that there are many ways to Heaven, I'd like to contradict her by saying that Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. So if you don't know Him, Please consider that you too will die and either spend eternity in Heaven or hell, one or the other. There are people dying everyday of unforeseen accidents, Whether or not they had time to repent and receive Jesus as Savior is any ones guess. I hope you won't take the chance. Why not do it now, while you have time. He will be there with open arms.
God Bless.

Never good enough

Some times no matter what I do, I still seems to feel it's never good enough. When I do the Bible study at the nursing home, every day I come away with the thought that I could have done better, I should have remembered to say this or make a point of that. When I sing, I think, messed up that song real good, why do I even try, etc, etc. And too I ask myself does any one really want me to do these things, or does anyone even care. I don't have an answer to that question, I only know that I really enjoy singing. I really enjoy reading the Bible and studying it with the residents. I only know that I have a real love for all those dear people there. And as long as I can see a smile on one of their faces I guess I'll keep doing what I'm doing. God willing that is. Just want to get something off my chest.
God bless

Our riches are

Willard gave his lesson at the nursing home this morning. It was the fifth chapter of James, and any one that has read it know it starts out with 1.Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Now this is not speaking of the rich as far as it's wrong to be rich. It's speaking of those that are so greedy that they will not use their money wisely. They hold on to their money, not spending it, until it begins to corrode "as coins do" . It speaks of these people as if their riches are the only thing that mean anything to them.

But what are our true riches? First it's the relationship we have with God. That's spiritual riches. Then there are the riches we have in and through our loved ones. Riches such as a mother holding her new born baby for the first time. Riches such as a father helping his son reel in his first fish. Riches such as holding the hand of a grandfather or grandmother, as they tell stories of long ago. A smile on the face of a friend, The spouse that you know will be there for you, no matter what. These are the true riches of this life.

I saw on facebook where Donna West was asking everyone to send Christmas cards ""now"" to a five year old little boy, He has cancer and will most likely, not still be with us at Christmas. Ask his mother what her treasure is, what her riches are. If she is like me, she would give anything she owned for her son to be healthy.

What are you riches?

The men keep winning

When Willard and I go to the nursing homes on Friday, we most always sing the Eastern Gate. The Women sing 'I will meet you" and the men sing "In the morning" The residents at both places enjoy having the competition between the men and women. The men always win though, for several reasons. There are most times two men for every woman, that's one factor. But the most blessed reason is that at both nursing home we have one man that really sings to the top of his voice. They take the competition seriously, but still that's not the whole reason they sing from their hearts. You can see with every word they sing the glory of God upon them. Willard and I both get such a blessing from all the residents. It's almost like they are a part of our family. But with all the blessings also come the hurts of loss, when we lose one of them. I can hardly sing " I bowed on my knees" without a tear coming to my eye. That was Mr. John's favorite song. ""Mr. John is the one with the microphone""It's been about a year now since we loss him. He's still missed, by Willard and I, and by many of the people at the nursing home. Willard and I both watch as many of the residents decline in health every week. It's so sad to watch these wonderful people struggle to do the simplest task. With our blessings come many sadnesses. But we think the Blessings are worth it.
Pray for us if you will.
And remember to keep praying for Janice
God bless you all

Glorified bodies

I was lying in bed just before, because I wasn't feeling too well. I guess I'm still tired from catching no fish yesterday, lol. Anyway don't ask me why, but I was thinking about Adam and Eve, and how that they both had a body that # 1 was perfect in the site of God. Bodies that would not age, or become winkled from years of living. Bodies that had no disease's or illnesses. they had perfect, ''glorified'' bodies that were created to withstand the ages. But the very second that they disobeyed God, their bodies went from Glorified, to being just a mortal body. One that would age, one that would grow old and "die". God told them if they were to eat of that tree, that they would surely die, and so they did, They died. Satan won that battle, and there has been more battles fought and won by him. Satan has gone to the depths of hell it's self, and brought to this world a arsenal of weapons with him. He has brought to mankind such things as greed, lust, envy, hate. With uncaring hearts, we pollute our bodies, the earth we live on, and even our very souls. Most of the world's population doesn't care about anythings beyond what they can see in the mirror. We hear words like cancer, leukaemia, and other diseases, and if we are not directly effected, we don't think twice about it. These disease's, that come by satan's on hand, to destroy life, with no regards for person or age. Will one day effect every family in the world. If you haven't yet been touched by their nasty sting, you are blessed. I can name at lease ""six"" people that I dearly love that have had cancer, within the last five years. We can all help these people in some way or another, by support, by prayers, and by caring enough to get out from in front of that mirror and seeing something besides ourselves.

Please keep Janice in your prayers, and all others in the same circumstances.

Until next time God Bless

When we become afraid, God is right there

We were talking today about the Israelites standing at the bottom of the Mount Sinai, as Moses was communing with God at the top. And I wanted the residents to come to understand the fear that the Israels must have felt at that time, as they stood there trembling with fear. Just about everyone of them had their own story about the most fearful time of their life. Some were really scary ordeals to have been through. But the one that really touched the whole room was when Mr. Maynard was telling about being in a fox hole during the 1st world war. He told that the enemy were only a few hundred feet away. He told the tell as if talking about something that happened just yesterday. How at night they could hear the enemy soldiers talking in their encampment. He told of being in the fox hole for days with this one man, whom was a Chinese. He was in America on a visa and was a student in college. When the war came, the Chinese gentleman either was drafted or joined the army, Either way he was in the fox hole with Mr. Maynard. With nothing but time and nerves rattled. Talking to each other, seemed to calm the nerves. They both became familiar with each other's life's. Mr Maynard said that there was one day he would never forget. An enemy Soldier had thrown a hand grenade in the fox hole where he and the Chinese man were. Mr. Maynard lost control of himself as he was telling how the Chinese man quickly grabbed the grenade and tossed it back out of the fox hole. He stated with tears running down his cheek, as he told of the grenade exploding right outside the fox hole, and how the man had saved his life.
That was the most terrifying thing that had ever happened to him.
We all have at one time or another been in situations that terrified us, or if you haven't it's a big Chance you will be. And as we talked about today, God was right there on the Mountain, watching over the Israelites. He was in that fox hole with Mr. Maynard. And He is ever present in all our lives. We are all blessed with that knowledge.

Remember to pray for Janice today, and all others that are going through scary circumstances.

God Bless

Your feelings reveiled

I'm one of those people that like to notice people and their expressions as they talk. The motions they make with their hands as if telling a story through the movement. Watching as they tell truths and untruths. Most people don't know that they have " what some experts on human behavior call a TELL. When you are not being exactly honest, there is something that you do, that you don't even realize you do. When I use to work with the E-Z Shop many years ago they brought in a professional on this subject. Because us managers hired our own employees. So we had to have a class in the behavior of people that lied. We also journeyed into signs to look for if an employee was stealing. The things that I learned in that class were amazing, and I have since found a real interest in it.

There is now a TV program called "" Lie to me "" which deals with some of the same things.

I have been watching people for years and although not near to being expert, I can tell when some people are being sincere or just saying what they think is their obligation to say. you'd be surprised at the insincerity of most people. In your job place, church, and even in the family environment. And you know I don't think that it really takes much to know, because even when we don't look for the signs consciously, I believe that our unconscious minds see it. That why experts tell us that if a woman strongly thinks that her husband is running around on her, that most likely he is. It's because her unconscious mind already knows, by the 'Tells' on his face when he denies any wrong doing.

I don't know why I'm even writing this. lol. Except I saw it yesterday as I met an acquaintance from our church, at the grocery store meat isle. She was saying all the right things. Well, you know! I think we have all experienced this whether we watch for it or not.

Here's an idea, don't say it, if you don't mean it. lol

God bless
