Where we came from


I heard someone say not long ago, when speaking about the Mexicans working in the USA, (we need to send them and everyone else back to where they came from). The Mexicans, this person was talking about, had work visa's, and were doing jobs that most people in the USA are too lazy to do. These people deserve much more than they earn. They work from sun up, til sun down in the blistering hot sun, and on cold rainy days. I don't know how they do what they do. If I were blessed enough to own a business, these would be the first people I'd want to hire. They're not afraid of work. They take it seriously, not goofing off every Chance they get, as do some of America's workforce.

And as far as sending people back where they came from. Well I'm part Indian, so that part could stay here. But you'd have to sent the rest of me to Ireland, part to Germany, and part to England. For anyone except a full blooded American Indian to say, send people back to where they came from, is as arrogant as can be. Open your eyes and look in your own family tree.

Higher gas prices?

While B.P. said the spill is a tiny one, A government spokesperson stated the liability would be in the 10 billions. To my opinion! the gas and oil customers will really have to pick up the tab, with higher fuel prices
B.P. has really made a mess of the ocean gulf's waters and shores. You ask me, it's all about greed. There has been more efficient ways of travel for many years now. Electric cars, solar powered vehicles, and I would guess many more inventions, that the oil companies bought and destroyed. They want to keep gas customers buying their product. I hope you all saw where GM actually destroyed many electric cars a few years ago. People were protesting the cars being destroyed. They had buyers for all of the cars, but for some reason they would not sell them. You ask me and I would venture that someone payed GM to destroy them. Whether the government or the oil company, to my opinion GM was paid to not only destroy those cars, but stop any further production of them.
This is a sick world, and the big wig money makers are
keeping it that way with their greed.


One would think that they would have some thoughts about what kind of world they're leaving their children and grandchildren. But I guess the sound of their bank account growing, speaks louder than the love they may have for them.

Unhappy people


Have you ever known a person that seems to think the whole world revolved around them?

Have you noticed that a lot of that kind of person stay unhappy a very large amount of time. It's all about what they didn't get, or what they weren't able to do. On and on they go with their narrow minded complaints. I happen to know, and have known a few of these people. It's sad, so very sad that they don't know where real joy comes from. These unhappy people don't understand """IF""" they would change their mind set, they too could have that joy within themselves.

First it's the extraordinary joy we Christians have from knowing the Lord Jesus. Knowing that no matter what this world may throw at us, Jesus Christ in walking right by our sides. And He knows every thing that we've going through. And most joyous of all, we have a home in Heaven awaiting us.

Then there's the joy one gets from the faces of those they have helped in some way, it just gives one a fantastic feeling within. Then there's the joy one gets from self improvement. Doing something with ones life that extends beyond ones own selfish desires.

If you are unhappy, and you feel down in the dumps. Try getting "yourself" off your mind. By putting others in it.

Heart broken and blessed


I am heart broken and blessed at the same time. Bessie called to ask if Willard and I could do Sunday School at the nursing home in the morning. Of course I told her that we would be glad to. She told me how much I was missed this week, since I've been out sick. She started explaining how every day, the residents would get there Bibles, and go to the lunch room for our Bible study. She said she would have to go in and remind them that I wasn't coming. Gee, how that brings tears to my eyes in knowing how I have disappointed them. But it also brings joy to my heart knowing how much they care for me. Anyone who does not know how much joy comes from visiting with these special people, have lost a real blessing. If each of you would just take one hour a week, and just visit with someone in a nursing home near you. Read to them, sing to them, or just talk to them and let them talk to you. They love telling stories about their life's. And I just know that if you would give it a try, you'll began to enjoy it as much as they do.

Choosing who we hang with.


I know that some people don't believe that who you hang out with, and who you choose as friends has anything to do with the events in their own life , but it does. Many people in the Bible chose the wrong person or nation to make deals with. We see in 1Kings Chapter 22, where Jehoshaphat who was king of Judah, made an alliance with Ahab, King of Israel. This was like making a deal with the devil himself. Ahab was one of the most evil people in the old testament. He worshiped Idols, and had many prophets of the god Asherah. Jehoshaphat made an alliance with him to go fight for Ramoth-gilead, a city of refuge on the east of Jordan. Which was then in the hands of Ben-hadad, king of Syria. Jehoshaphat made a real bad decision when he did this. I hope you will go read the story.

We often have friends that are not Christians, and we seem to think we have to do what they do to keep the friendship. But often we need to let these friendships go, if they are interfering with our walk with the Lord.

Before Willard was saved, he would go to parties with his co-workers on special occasions, such as Christmas and Thanksgiving. These parties would be in different places and sometimes even in bars. But after Willard became a Christian he stopped attending these parties with all the drinking, etc. Willard also stopped hanging around with the men that cursed and carried on, not so righteous conversations. Willard set himself apart. And that's what Jesus Christ expects from all His followers. We have to live in this world, and we have to put up with it's evils. But we don't have to be part of it.

Don't let your non Christian friends draw you into their world. We as Christians should be trying to change the world, not conform to it.

boxes, boxes,boxes



I have two things today. The first thing is, I finally finished the lap quilt I start two weeks ago. I use to be able to turn one out in two days. One for sewing the blocks and another for sewing it all together and quilting. It took be two weeks to get it together and quilted, I had the blocks already from where I retired for a while, a couple years ago. I just don't have the energy I use to. But I'm not quiting, The good Lord is keeping me here for some reason.


The second thing. I went to the grocery store this morning. Now if any of you know how inconvenient it is shopping, with boxes strewn all over the isles, you can understand my feelings trying to shop this morning. It's bad enough when you're healthy, but when you are disabled as I am, it makes it three times harder. Grocery store Managers get a clue. Correct the problem!!!!! There's no way to get the shopping cart through all this. eight inches is not enough room!!!!

Can't always see child abuse


They cry for our help, but we don't hear.
I don't know why, but I just remembered a little girl that was the daughter of the neighbors. Gee, this would have been at lease forty years ago. I saw the little girl one day when her mother asked to use the phone, and I noticed that the little girl was wearing a bandage on her hand where use to be one of her fingers. I asked her mother what had happened. She said that a cat had scratched her daughter, about a week before and that the finger had gotten infected and had what she said was canned green in it. So they had to remove the finger. I had no reason to think the little girl was being abused. Although, I did wonder why the mother hadn't kept a closer eye on her daughter, not to know that the girls finger was infected, until too late to save it. I did notice that the little girl hardly ever went outside. She was approximately five and I knew that at that age, children loved to play outside. I even asked the mother one day about it. She said her daughter was highly sensitive to the sun. I just kept excepting the mother's answers, that was until I saw the police, and the child protection services. or whatever they were called back then. Come and arrests the mother and father, and took the child away. I heard that the child was eventually given to one of the grandparents. The mother and father were put on parole, and shortly afterward moved away.
I was right next door to these devils. I should have saw the signs, but I didn't.
Someone else saw them, and reported something. I don't, to this day, know how the abuse of the little girl was found out, or who reported it to authorities. I'm just so thankful that some one saw it.
Hopfully, I will be able to see the signs if any other child is in trouble. We can't always see the signs of child abuse. Sometimes they are hidden from view.

Your Master


I was listening to Adrian Rogers this morning. He is to my pinion, one of the best preachers on TV. He was preaching on, one of the things that I too, try to get across to people.
The Bible verse he read were,
Matthew 6:19
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
Matthew 6:20

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Matthew 6:21

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Matthew 6:22

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Matthew 6:23

But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
Matthew 6:24

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Preacher Rogers, also choose these verses to accompany this scripture.

Proverbs15:6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

Proverbs 23:4-5
Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. 5-Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.

Proverbs 11:4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

1 Tim 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

The point is you either care more about your earthly posessions or God. Preacher Rogers made these comments that impressed me.

1. Your riches will make a fool out of you, if you let them. We see that every day. rich people get bored because they don't have to work for anything. And end up into drugs, drinking or whatever.

And the second statement he said was a powerful one.

No matter how rich you are, you can never bribe the judge of Heaven.

Rich people can bribe earthy judges, and in fact have them in their, ''so called'' pocket. But God can't be bribed, bought, or blackmailed into anything.

For Angela


My niece Angela has been going through so many trails. Her Mom, my brother Danny's wife Janice, has been fighting a battle with cancer for some years now. Janice won the first battle, but the cancer has come back. I hope and pray that each of you will say a special prayer for her. I won my battle with cancer and am pass the five year mark. So I know how hard it can be, not only for the cancer patient, but for the whole family.

Angela takes turns with her dad in taking her mom to her treatments. They live in Petersburgs VA., and come all the way to Duke NC for her treatments. When Angela is not busy helping all she possibly can with her Mom, she also has to help with her husband's health issues. Her husband has diabetes and has appointments and surgeries etc. which Angela has to help with. Angela just went through spending time helping with her stepdaughter when she had her surgery.

I do not know where she gets the energy to do all this, much less the mental strain she must be going through. Sometimes I think the only thing holding her up is Jesus Christ himself.

So here's to you Angela. With all the love in my heart. God bless

Easier to be a Christian.

Back seventy five and eighty years ago it was easier to be a Christian. It was easy to have neighbors and friends that were Christians, because just about everyone else was a Christian.They didn't have the temptations around as much as the world has today. They didn't have all the technology, to draw them away from reading the Bible or going to Church service. Back then on Sunday morning there were, Sunday school and worship service, and Sunday night service. And there was always Wednesday night prayer meeting, which lasted a couple of hours. Now we have Sunday school and service, and Wednesday Bible study. There is no more preaching on Wednesday night, it's mostly just Bible study. And of course now, they use one Wednesday every quarter, for their business meetings. Sunday night services have disappeared from most churches. People just found other things that they rather do.
Back then, people could walk down the road or sidewalk of their neighborhood, not even worrying about locking their doors, to visit other neighbors. They didn't have to worry about being robbed, being shot at by a drive by shooter, hearing a small child be beaten and cursed at by drunk or high on drugs parents. They didn't have to worry about their identity being stolen, because just like everyone else they had nothing in the banks to steal. I could go on and on but I think you get the idea. What a mess we have made of God's creation and what a mess we, that are His creation have become. What a mess indeed! The water tower stands as a reminder of time long passed. One has to wonder, have we really made things better?

Misconceptions about the Bible


I was visiting a relative today, and when I was about to leave, I asked since she wasn't feeling well, if she wanted me to have a word of prayer with her. She say no, that I was wearing pants and it was a sin. I guess what she was saying was since I was wearing pants that I was a sinner and she didn't want a sinner to pray for her.
Somewhere in the pass, someone came up with what they thought was sin. And I guess that they somehow had gotten it from the Bible. I don't understand, nor will I try to find out just what their reasoning was.
It's a sin for a woman to wear pants.
Now, I have never read in the Bible where it's a sin for a woman to wear pants. In fact there were no such things as pants when the Bible was written. both men and women wore tunics. The Bible tells us in
Deuteronomy 22:5
The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
The idea here was that people should not cross dress, and appear to be of the opposite sex. This is such as gay people do, and as transvestites of today's world do.
Wearing pants that are made for woman is not sinful. But keep in mind that anything can be sinful if done in a wrong way. My thinking is, how women dress, whether in pants or dresses should always look proper, and not sexual. I see women all the time with their boobs sticking out from a top that is cut way to low. This to me is a sin. I see women wearing dresses and skirts that are so short that they have to keep pulling them down to keep their private parts from showing. This to me is a sin. Women are supposed to dress plainly as to not to cause attention to themselves.

Through His Word, the Holy Bible, God gives us simple and clear instructions.
1 Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel… The word “modest” is defined in the English Dictionary as: 1. having or expressing a humble opinion of oneself or one’s accomplishments or abilities; 2. reserved or shy; 3. not ostentatious or pretentious. Therefore, God expects a woman to dress in a proper, well-mannered fashion, certainly not in a provocative, outlandish or excessive way. Christians are to be examples to those around them, Their appearance and actions should show stability and good judgment.

Got to like that King Asa


You really gotta like that King Asa in 1st Kings. Well, at first anyway. You see at first King Asa did what was right. What was righeous before God.
1kings 15:12
And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

But as many men do, Asa’s faithfulness was corrupted because of compromise.

As do our goverment officials of today.

Listening to the right one.


We had a very good lesson at the nursing home this morning. The material we were reading, had two examples of the same thing. Who to listen to. Our first person was Rehoboam, Solomon's son. After he took Solomon, his father's place as king, the people came to him and wanted him to make things easier for them than Solomon his father. First, Rehoboam asked the older men with wisdom. They instructed Rehoboam that if he did so, that the people would love him the more and serve him. Then Rehoboam went to the men of his own age and asked. The younger men gave the very opposite advice. In fact they instructed him to make things much worse, which he did. Instead of taking advice from the older, wiser men, Rehoboam played the fool, and listened to the wrong advice. Even though Solomon was a wise man, he had a foolish son. This led to the kingdom being divided and ripped from him, as prophecy had already foretold. He was left with only the tribes of Judah and Benjamin. And these only so that God's promise to David would still be fulfilled.

The next lesson in listening to the right person, was told with two men that are unnamed. A man of God was sent with a message to Jerhoboam. Now Jerhoboam had made two gold calf's and built high places and had a calf put in each place. God sent someone to give a message to him. The message is a prophecy, that you really should read. But for now we want to talk about God's instructions to the man, not to eat, drink anything in the place and not to even go out the same way he came in. Well when offered these things the first time, the man refused. But when he met up with another man who lied and told him that God gave him a message that the man of God should turn aside and go eat and drink with him, the man did so without question. which ended in his death. God had told the man not to stop and eat, etc. and if God had wanted to change His mind He Himself would have told the Man. A good friend of mine, Frances, made the statement that the same thing happened in the garden of Eden. After God had told Adam and Eve not to eat of the tree. Old satan comes and tells them a different story. Satan lied just as the man in 1st Kings lied. The punishment was given to the man who disobeyed God, and not to the lying man. We must know what God's word tells us. It's what God has left us to receive instruction from Him. There are people that are trying to change the Bible "the word of God'' and it's truths. We must remember to trust that if God wants us to believe anything else, He will tell us Him self. So until Jesus Christ comes and takes me home. The Bible, the true word of God is what instructions I will follow.

Willard planting in pots

Willard knows that I love to watch things grow. And I am unable to make it out the the back field anymore. So he pulled the concrete pots to the back door so I could water them and watch as they grow. Willard is such a sweet person. I am so blessed to have a man that not only cares about me, he really does care about all people. And you know, that's about all I have to say today. Have a great day, and until next time. I sang in front of the Mayor


Yesterday, Willard and I went to the nursing home. Me to sing and Willard to give the Sunday school message. We had no idea that the Mayor would be there. To say I was nervous would not even be close. Willard did a fantastic job with the message. I was so very proud of him. He stood up in front of the people just as he always did. And gave a wonderful message.

We asked the residents to tell a little about their Mothers. That was wonderful seeing the smiles on their faces as they went back in time to recall their youth. The whole time there was so special. and wow, I sang in front of the Mayor. I still can't believe I had the nerve.

A Mother's love


A Mother's love is as, no other love on Earth.
No one could put a price on it, or tell just what it's worth.

A Mother's love endures, through all the years and trials.
No matter how long the road, no matter how many miles.

A Mother's can be as gentle as a breeze, that cools the summer night.
Or it can be a raging wind, when things aren't going right.

A Mother's love is hard as nail, when she needs to show correction.
Or it can be safe and warm, when she's showing her protection.

A Mother's love is simple, There's no fancy way to show it.
No big elegant displays, some how you just know it.

A Mother's love is there, to frighten the scary shadows away.
Or some how find that favorite toy, that magically went astray.

God, please bless all the Mother's, and help them do what's right.
And may He always keep their children, in His precious sight.

And God help Mother's lead their children, in His holy word.
So they may repeat the message, of what they once have heard.

''We'' have the choice in what we watch.


Many years ago when I was working. I was waiting on a customer, and she asked me if I watched a certain show on TV the night before. I told her no, I did not. I said something to the effect that I didn't watch that show. She started telling how awful it was. Saying something about a man pulled off his pants and all the other things she saw. Since she continued in telling everyone in the business, how awful and vulgar the show was. I asked her this question, (did you continue to set and watch it)? Her face turned just a touch red as she had to admit, she did. Even though she thought the show not fit to be on TV, she still sat and watched. I would have taken her outrage to the show, more sincere, if she had said, she didn't watch it. But she watched. We can complain about the shows on our TV sets all we want to. But until we either turn the TV off or turn the channel when these vulgar shows come on, then we have nothing to say. My opinion is if enough people stop watching these shows and complain to the networks. The sponsor's will leave them high and dry. after all the sponsors are the ones who furnish the financing for the shows. So at the end of the day, it's your and my choice what comes on our TV's. Willard use to watch that show, two and a half men. I would always find something else to do while he watched. I though the show was vulgar, and I just didn't like it at all. But I really never said anything to Willard about it. One day Willard told me that the Lord had convicted him from watching it. He said the Lord showed him how vulgar the show was. Willard has never watched it again.
I'll tell you something, the devil will use anything he can to get to you or you family members. TV is just another way old satan can come into your house. And when you turn on that TV and watch trash, then you are, ''to my opinion'' inviting satan in.
Turn the thing off and spend some time with the family, is what I say.

Men weakened by lust.


You can look into today's world and see it all over. Men drawn away from happy marriages, for lust of some woman. Tiger Woods, John Edwards, Jesse James. These are just to name a few of the most popular ones in our headlines. Men lusting after women is not a modern day thing. In fact we find this kind of behavior all over the Old Testament of the Bible. To name a few were, Samson who lusted after a gentile woman, not just once but twice. His second wife, Delila, played him for a fool. Which ended with his capture by the Philistines and soon after, his death.

King David also was overtaken with lust as he watched Uriah's wife, Bath-Sheba as she bathed. As a result, He got Bath-Sheba pregnant. The end result was that he had Uriah murdered. So King David's lust also resulted in cold blooded murder.

And let's not forget David's son Solomon his lust for women was so overwhelming, that he ended up with seven hundred wives and three hundred mistresses.

Now mind you I really don't mean this as a joke. But I think if Solomon had been alive today, they could surely say he had a sex addiction.

So as you can see, this is not a new thing of today.

The professionals call it a sex addiction. I call it, lack of self control. I call it, temptations from the devil that are not fought hard enough against. And I call it sin. Not an illness, but just plain sin.

Laugher, good medicine



Willard and I had a great time at Golden Years this morning. Everyone was so attentive and seemed to be really interested in the lesson that was being given by Willard and me. We were in first kings Chapters nine and ten. When the verse was read by Willard about Solomon having seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines. Mr Maynard said ( That was one gooooood man) We all cracked up and had a good laugh. Then Mr. Norris tuned in and said (He didn't think any man had that much testosterone. ) Even Miss Elizabeth, who usually sits quietly in her chair, starting laughing out loud.
Oh, I know that it was Bible study, and in some other surroundings, other that the nursing home, we may have been frowned on. But if each of you could have just seen all those lovely people, who normally have nothing to laugh about. All having a good laugh together. You would have said ' praise God. What a great time this was, it just made my day.

The all America canal is, a Killer canal.


Over 550 Mexican people dead, due to a canal that is on the Mexican, California border, used to irrigate farm lands. I watched 60 minutes as they showed a large graveyard with headstones of unnamed people.
I watch as they questioned the main person responsible for the upkeep and safety of the canal. A stern faced woman, with little emotion, stated that these people were taking their own lives in their own hands when they tried to cross the canal. When reminded that not only men, but women and children also were losing their lives because of the lack of safety features in the canal. she just shrugged her shoulders as if saying, so what.
There was a man that at his own expense, put some rope with floatation devices across the canal. This being so people could grab on to something to keep from drowning. But the state of California, quickly took them out, At the states expense!!!!! Isn't it peculiar that they can spend the money taking something down, but tell John q public, they can't afford to put safety devices in.
I understand that it's against the law for these Mexican to enter the USA illegally. But I think their life is too steep a penalty to be payed. Come on America, find a heart!!!!

My Gardenias

OK, soooo. You remember last September. I had rooted the Gardenias and planted them. They had just enough time before cold weather came, to establish a root system in the ground. If you'll remember, I told you I'd let you know how they did. Well we lost two, out of the nine we planted.

Within three years, this will be a full grown plant. And what I love about them is, they stay green all year round.
