Power often brings out the worst in people.

Today at the nursing home we were in Chapter eleven and twelve of exodus. And we read over and over again about Pharaoh and how God would harden his heart. one of the residents asked about why God hardened his heart. I explained that Pharaoh's heart was already evil and that God just use an already evil heart to accomplish what He wanted done. God let it go on for ten different plagues, not because God needed more time or anything, But to show Pharaoh and all of Egypt His power and might. It seems that when people are in powerful positions that the power does something to them, it kind of goes to their heads. Pharaoh wasn't the only person in the Bible that this has occurred to.

Take King David, when he first took the throne, he was a man of God. He lived to please God. But as his kingdom expanded and he grew rich and powerful, his demeanor turned from pleasing God, to self indulgents until he was completely out of the will of God. So did Saul before him and Solomon after him.

Pharaoh was born into this type of life and was raised to believe himself a God. So he and all the Egyptians had to learn the lesson of who God was and had to be showed God's power over them.

There are still many leaders in today's world that need to learn that lesson. I think our nations leaders have forgotten just who God is. I think they have forgotten just how powerful God is. And I think soon and very soon that they will as Pharaoh did begin to find out once more, that this world was created by God and that God is still in control. When God brings His wrath on them, there will be nowhere to hide. I hope that they will soon see the error of their ways and turn this country again back into the God fearing America it once was.

Until next time God bless.
